چکیده

We present the LHC predictions for the WHDG model of radiative, elastic, and path length fluctuating energy loss. We find the p⊥ dependence of RAA is qualitatively very different from AWS-based energy loss extrapolations to the LHC; the large p⊥ reach of the year one data at the LHC should suffice to distinguish between the two. We also discuss the importance of requiring a first elastic scatter before any medium-induced elastic or radiative loss occurs, a necessary physical effect not considered in any previous models.

Reflective Elastic Scattering at LHC

We discuss effects of reflective scattering for hadron and heavy nuclei collisions at the LHC and asymptotical energies. It is shown that the reflective scattering might lead to decreasing matter density with energy beyond the LHC energies. Limiting form of energy dependence of hadron density is obtained. Unitarity upper bound for the absolute value of the real part of elastic scattering amplit...

Heavy quark jet quenching with collisional plus radiative energy loss and path length fluctuations

With the QGP opacity computed perturbatively and with the global entropy constraints imposed by the observed dNch/dy ≈ 1000, radiative energy loss alone cannot account for the observed suppression of single non-photonic electrons. We show that collisional energy loss, which previously has been neglected, is comparable to radiative loss for both light and heavy jets and may in fact be the domina...

Dynamic Instability Analysis of Embedded Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes under Combined Static and Periodic Axial Loads using Floquet–Lyapunov Theory

The dynamic instability of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT), double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWCNT) and triple-walled carbon nanotubes (TWCNT) embedded in an elastic medium under combined static and periodic axial loads are investigated using Floquet–Lyapunov theory. An elastic multiple-beam model is utilized where the nested slender nanotubes are coupled with each other through the van d...

Pp Elastic Scattering at Lhc and Signature of Chiral Phase Transition at Large |t|

A model of pp and ¯ pp elastic scattering developed previously to analyze ISR and SPS Collider data is extended to predict pp elastic differential cross section at LHC at c.m. energy of 14 TeV and momentum transfer range |t| = 0-10 GeV 2. Role of the gauged linear σ-model as an underlying field theory model describing nucleon structure and elastic scattering is discussed. Possibility of finding...
